Elmwood Lodge

Is a registered care home for 10 single individuals of both sexes, a family style accommodation for people with mental illness (18-65 years old).
Elmwood is located in a residen-tial road just off Station Road within easy access to local ameni-ties in the borough of Bexley.

Elmwood Lodge aims to:

  • Uphold Quo Vadis “Charter of Rights” allowing people who live at Elmwood to control as much of their lives as possible,
  • Provide a secure and safe envi-ronment.
  • Work with “service user” advo-cates and families to improve delivery of care.
  • Foster an open and positive en-vironment so that service users can contribute to the manage-ment of the home.
  • Actively support service users to engage in activities that help maxi-mize their potential.
  • Ensure support services are in-volved and access to services are available (social care services, GP’s, district nurses, mental health teams and other caring profession-als).
  • Encourage comments about the services received at Elmwood Lodge and enable complaints to be made within the strictest of confi-dentiality .

 Fully equipped and comfortable lounge.
 Landscaped large garden at rear

Objectives

  • To provide a range of specialist services commissioned by the local mental health trust.
  • To provide a specialist care home for people with substantial mental health needs.
  • To enable residents disadvantaged by ill health and challenging behaviour to live in the community.
  • To facilitate and encourage residents to establish a level of independence compatible with their abilities and circumstances.
  • To encourage residents to take control of and responsibility for their own behaviour, health needs and aspirations in an inter-dependent manner.
  • To establish an integrated approach to support.
